Login to Neptun
Neptun is BME's academic platform, where you can find all the information relating to your studies. Click on the UK flag before logging in.
- FOR NEW STUDENTS:
- Your login name is your Neptun code, that you received in an email titled ‘BME - Welcome letter and Letter of Acceptance (2025/26/2 – 2026 February)’.
- Your initial password includes your birthdate in the following format: NeYYYYMMDD. It is recommended to change this password.
- This password must be changed upon first entry.
- FOR RETURNING BME STUDENTS:
- Your login name and password remain the same as before. After logging in, make sure to select the correct training program in the top left corner using the 'Training' button.
- If you received a new Neptun code in the email ‘BME - Welcome letter and Letter of Acceptance (2025/26/2 – 2026 February)’, please inform us via the ’E999 Request for a purpose not specified in any other requests’.
In both of the above cases; if you have forgotten your password, click on the 'Forgot Password' button. After entering your login name, a password reset email will be sent to your default Neptun email address. If you continue to have login problems, you can request a password reset in person at the ASC - Academic Services Centre (formerly CAO - Central Academic Office) during office hours or by contacting us at kth-info@bme.hu.
Changing personal data
Before starting the enrolment process for the new training program, please check and update your personal data in Neptun under 'My data ➥ Personal information' if necessary.
Here is a guide on how to do it: ‘Guide to changing personal data, addresses, passport number, etc’.
Please note that you cannot update all your personal data. If you find any issue, simply download and print the enrolment form as it is. Your academic coordinator will update the necessary information after the personal enrolment based on your submitted documents.
To avoid any problems with scholarship payments or refunds, it is strongly recommended that you add your bank account details as soon as you can. Students can add Hungarian bank account numbers in Neptun under 'Neptun ➥ Finances ➥ Settings'. If you have an international bank account, you must submit a '112 Request for International Bank Account Registration' to register it.
ACADEMIC coordinator
You have an academic coordinator who manages your requests and academic matters during your studies. You can find their name in Neptun under ’Studies ➥ Training data’, and their contact details on the ASC website.

IN person ENROLMENT IN THE Academic Services Centre ASC
During registration week (9-12 February 2026), the ASC will organize a Registration day on 12 February 2026, where you can meet the International Mentor Team (IMT) and complete the in-person enrolment process. More details will be available later.
The in-person enrolment takes place at the Academic Services Centre in the Main Hall of Building R during opening hours, if you were unable to attend the Registration Day.
Please note that the enrolment process involves two steps: an online registration, which includes submitting the ‘100 Enrolment’ form (from 12.01.2026) in Neptun, and a personal registration at the ASC. You must complete both parts to become a BME student.
Late Arrival
You do not have to withdraw from your studies if you do not arrive in Hungary by 12 February 2026. However, you must submit the '022 Request for Preferential Course Schedule' form through Neptun to receive a late arrival permission. Your request will be assessed by the Faculty Studies Committee. All Faculties have agreed that this kind of permission can be granted with the deadline of 27 February at the latest. In exceptional circumstances, Faculty Study Committees may allow a later deadline (The latest possible deadline is 13 March). However, failing to submit the request may result in you being refused permission to start your studies and asked to leave.
The following deadlines are usually applied:
- BSc programs: 27 February
- MSc programs: 6 March
- Preliminary program: 13 March
But in all cases, your ’100 Enrolment’ form must be submitted by 12 February 2026 at the latest.
If you arrive after 12 February and have not requested permission for a late arrival via the '022 Request for Preferential Study Schedule' form in Neptun, you must pay an additional fee of 5.500 HUF.
IMPORTANT: Please remember to complete your online tasks before travelling (active status, online enrolment, subject/course registration etc.), in accordance with the deadlines mentioned.
Late online enrolment
You must submit your '100 Enrolment' form in Neptun before 23:59 (Hungarian time) on 12 February 2026. If you submit the form after this deadline, a late fee of 5.500 HUF will be charged once your status has been activated. You can only set an active status until 1 March 2026. From this date onwards, you can only set a passive status. Please note that you must complete the entire enrolment process (online and in-person), even if your status is passive.
Deferment of enrolment
If you are unable to start your studies in the 2025/26/2 semester, you can defer (postpone) your enrolment to the next admission period based on this year's admissions decision, without having to reapply. According to the BME Code of Studies, this option is only available to international students.
If you wish to defer (postpone) your enrolment as a tuition fee-paying student, you must submit the ’004 Request for deferment for new students’ form in Neptun between 12 January and 30 March 2026.
You can find the list of training programs here.
Please note that if you request deferment (postponement), BME must refund your paid tuition fees. You can find all the necessary details about the refund process here.
Please note that you can only request deferment once!
Withdrawal of enrolment
If you wish to withdraw your enrolment after being admitted to a training program at BME, please submit the ’034 Resignation from enrolment opportunity’ request in Neptun between 12 January and 14 March 2026.
